Description
Authorize to budget and expend prior year carry forward funds in the amount of $59,313,582 from the MtBE settlement funds for the remediation of MtBE contamination in groundwater and drinking water. Effective upon G&C approval through June 30, 2017. 100% Other Funds (MTBE Settlement). (2)Further authorize to retroactively amend a memorandum of understanding between the Department of Justice and the Department of Environmental Services (originally approved by G&C on 12-4-13, item #22), by extending the end date from June 30, 2015 to June 30, 2021, and by increasing the grant to DES by $59,313,582 from $22,316,660 to $81,630,242. Contingent upon Fiscal Committee approval on June 24, 2016.
